The exhibition inaugurates MoCA L.I.'s new series\, Art from the Hive\, which will spotlight artists working in close proximity sharing studios\, buildings\, or creative communities "under one roof." Curated by PAC MoCA's curatorial team.  \nFor its first edition\, Art from the Hive features artists who have had recent or current residencies with ChaShaMa at the Brooklyn Army Terminal (BAT) a landmark waterfront complex in Sunset Park\, Brooklyn. The exhibition brings together nine contemporary artists whose practices span a wide range of approaches and materials\, including figurative and abstract painting\, sculpture\, and mixed media. \nThe artists featured in Occupying Space: 9 @ BAT are: Christina Giuffrida\, Deming King\, Caroline Heffron\, Leekyung Kang\, Linda Lee Nicholas\, Macy Rajacich\, Miranda Maher\, Sophia Kayafas\, and Whit Harris. The exhibition is curated by the PAC MoCA Curatorial Team. \nChaShaMa is a NYC-based nonprofit arts organization that supports artists by developing subsidized studio and exhibition spaces creating pathways for artists to sustain their practices and expand public access to contemporary art. \nOccupying Space: 9 @ BAT reflects that mission through a focused snapshot of artists working in dialogue with one another through place\, proximity\, and shared creative infrastructure.
